Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (NICU/Peds) with critical care experience for a 13-week night shift contract at a Level 1 Trauma, academic medical center in Winston-Salem, NC.
Details
- Work in the Respiratory Care department of a large 885-bed academic medical center with Level 1 Trauma, Chest Pain Center, and Stroke Center designations
- Neonatal and pediatric patient population
- Patient types include post-surgical, pneumonia, COPD, asthma, and ED patients
- Therapists are assigned to an appropriate patient care workload, including ICU areas or medical/surgical floors, based on department needs
- 12-hour night shifts from 18:30–07:00
- Every other weekend rotation required
- No on-call required
- Schedule is set on a 6-week cycle
- EMR: Epic (experience preferred)
- Preferred equipment experience: Servo U, Servo Air, The Vest, Volara, Aerogen, Heated High Flow, and cough assist; HFJV and HFOV experience preferred for pediatric assignments
Requirements
- Active NC RT license required if applicable
- RRT required; CRT is acceptable but not preferred
- Current BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy critical care experience
- Minimum 12 months of core work experience in the unit specialty area, with most recent experience within the last year
- Previous experience in a Level 1 trauma center and/or high-acuity organization preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Candidates who have worked a permanent position at an Advocate Health Southeast facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
- Each shift is supported by both Adult and Pediatric Lead Therapists with a strong teamwork culture
- Orientation includes a facility NEO session followed by 1–2 days of departmental orientation
- Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays
- Time off requests require manager approval
- Scrub color: pewter (charcoal grey)
