Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Endoscopy/PACU position in Rapid City, SD, requiring at least 2 years of experience with Level 1 or 2 trauma and proficiency in advanced endoscopy procedures including EUS, EBUS, and ERCP.
Details
- Hospital-based Endoscopy unit with 4 procedure rooms, 20 Pre-Op bays, and 14 PACU bays
- Patient types include upper and lower endoscopy (EGD, colonoscopy), advanced procedures (EUS, EBUS, ERCP), and pre/post recovery care including Phase I and Phase II PACU with some ICU-level care
- Patient ratios: Endo 1:1 | Pre-Op 1:2 | PACU Phase I 1:1 or 1:2 (acuity-based) | PACU Phase II 1:2-3
- Charting via Epic; additional equipment includes ION robotic-assisted bronchoscopy, Omnicell, and Alaris
- Anesthesia provides 100% of sedation for procedures
- Variable shift schedule rotating through 8-hour shifts: 0630-1500, 0730-1600, 0830-1700, and 0900-1800
- Every 3rd weekend rotation required
- On-call required: one overnight call shift per week (7p-7a) and every 3rd weekend; 15-minute response time required
- Floating may occur to Pre-Op, PACU, or floor as helping hands; will not be floated to Main OR as primary RN
- Coverage required for 2 out of 4 major holidays
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Free parking is available
Requirements
- Active RN license — South Dakota (SD) or Compact license currently in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a Level 1 or 2 trauma setting
- Proficiency in advanced endoscopy procedures including EUS (Endoscopic Ultrasound), EBUS (Endobronchial Ultrasound), and ERCP required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Two professional references dated within the past year required for consideration
- DOB and SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Endoscopy team consists of RN/Endo Tech x6 per shift with anesthesia support on-site
- Unit orientation is 1 week
- First-time travelers are not automatically accepted — email for potential approval on a case-by-case basis
- Permanent staff of this facility must wait a full year before returning as a traveler
- Time off requests require manager approval; low-census volunteer time off (without pay) may be available
