Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NICU experience for a day shift travel assignment in a hospital-based NICU setting in Panama City, FL.
Details
- Position is based in the Respiratory Therapy department of an acute care hospital with a 28-bed NICU
- Facility features the area's only designated Pediatric ER, a 4-bed Pediatric ICU, and a 28-bed NICU
- Patient population includes neonatal and adult patients
- Patient ratios are variable depending on day and area coverage, with all staff expected to assist as needed
- Preferred experience with PB 840 and Dräger ventilators
- Preferred experience with deliveries and surfactant administration
- EMR system: Meditech
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Weekend availability may be required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RRT license and certification required; license required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an RRT
- Adult and Level 3 NICU experience required
- Active experience in the specialty within the last 6 months required
- Current ACLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- Current NRP (Advanced 9th Edition, American Academy of Pediatrics) required for RT staff caring for neonates
- Two professional references required
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Team-oriented work environment with a staff of approximately 35
- Facility is a Joint Commission Top Performer and holds certifications in stroke care, wound care, chest pain, and cancer programs
- First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded, but allied candidates must have active experience in the specialty within the last 6 months
