Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a PACU position at a heart and spine hospital in Dallas, TX, requiring critical care ICU and PACU experience with a 13-week contract.
Details
- PACU unit within a specialized heart and spine hospital in Dallas, TX
- 16-bed PACU unit with a 2:1 patient ratio
- Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse and 8 staff members
- Procedures performed include cardiac cath, ablation, carotid endarterectomy, TAVR, laminectomies, and hip and knee replacements
- Equipment includes LVADs, A-lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, and ventilators
- EMR system: Meditech
- Shift hours: 8:00 AM – 8:30 PM
- Floating required to pre-op
- Weekend call required with a 1-hour response time to the hospital
Requirements
- Active TX RN license or compact RN license (must be in hand)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment)
- Minimum 1 year of recent PACU experience required
- Critical care ICU experience required
- Cardiac experience preferred
- Ortho/neuro experience preferred
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible for this position
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Strong teamwork orientation is valued on this unit
- Cardiac and spine surgical patient population with complex post-anesthesia care needs
