Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a PACU position at a heart and spine hospital in Dallas, TX, requiring critical care ICU and PACU experience with a 13-week contract.

Details

• PACU unit within a specialized heart and spine hospital in Dallas, TX
• 16-bed PACU unit with a 2:1 patient ratio
• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse and 8 staff members
• Procedures performed include cardiac cath, ablation, carotid endarterectomy, TAVR, laminectomies, and hip and knee replacements
• Equipment includes LVADs, A-lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, and ventilators
• EMR system: Meditech
• Shift hours: 8:00 AM – 8:30 PM
• Floating required to pre-op
• Weekend call required with a 1-hour response time to the hospital

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license (must be in hand)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment)
• Minimum 1 year of recent PACU experience required
• Critical care ICU experience required
• Cardiac experience preferred
• Ortho/neuro experience preferred
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible for this position
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Strong teamwork orientation is valued on this unit
• Cardiac and spine surgical patient population with complex post-anesthesia care needs
