Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position in San Antonio, TX, requiring 2+ years of ER experience and active TX RN license.
Details
- Emergency Department (ED) unit in a hospital setting in San Antonio, TX
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- On-call responsibilities required
- 13-week contract
- EMR system: Meditech (experience preferred)
- Procedures performed include conscious sedation, intubations, behavioral health watch, sepsis management, stroke care (tPA administration), and chest pain/heart alerts
- Floating to other units is required per facility floating policy
Requirements
- Active TX RN license required — temp licenses will not be accepted
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, NIHSS, and either PALS or ENPC
- Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience required
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Preferred certification: CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse)
- Strong teamwork and communication skills are highly valued
- RN scrub color: Navy (undershirts and jackets must be white, navy, or black only)
- Nail policy: No acrylic nails; nails must be no longer than ¼ inch, clean, and free of chipped polish
- Hair must be worn off shoulders and in a natural color
- Visible body art should be covered whenever possible
- Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited
- CPI or an approved equivalent (SAMA, MAB, or ACPMA) is required for ER units per facility policy
