Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery (LDRP) night shift position in Carlsbad, NM, requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and an active NM or Compact RN license.
Details
- LDRP unit covering antepartum triage, active labor, postpartum (mother and baby), special care nursery, and nursery
- Small unit with 1 triage bed, 3 labor beds, and 4 postpartum beds
- Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:4 depending on acuity
- Night shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
- EMR systems in use: MedHost (inpatient), GE Centricity (OB), and Athena (clinic)
- No floating required
- No on-call required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active NM or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and S.T.A.B.L.E.
- All certifications must remain active through at least the first 30 days of the assignment
- Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience required
- Valid driver's license required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provides nursing care across the full LDRP scope: antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases
- Demonstrates critical thinking, clinical leadership, and delegation of patient care priorities
- Maintains clinical competencies and participates in continuing education
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Candidates who have worked at any CHS facility as permanent staff within the past 2 years are not eligible
- RTO requests must be less than one week in duration
- Any color scrubs permitted; full uniform required — no t-shirts or hoodies, only undershirts under scrub tops
- Blocked scheduling is not available for this position
