Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPCU) position in Hawaii, requiring an active HI RN license and at least 1 year of recent acute care experience.
Details
- Progressive Care Unit (CPCU) in a hospital setting
- 15-bed unit consisting of 3 Step-Down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds
- Patient ratios: 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step-Down ICU
- Varied shift schedule, 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required to all acute care units in-house, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER
- Charting via Meditech; Pyxis used for medication administration
- Equipment includes BIPAP and continuous cardiac monitoring systems
Requirements
- Active Hawaii (HI) RN license required by start of assignment; candidates without one must apply upon acceptance of offer
- Current BLS/BCLS required
- Minimum 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year
- Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred
- ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications preferred
Additional Information
- Primary duties include nursing care, telemetry monitoring, telemetry strip reading, and fingerstick blood glucose monitoring
- Scrubs required as the dress code
- All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of assignment; plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to attend a Friday Employee Health appointment
- COVID-19 vaccination required
