Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a float pool Med/Surg Tele position at a 163-bed Level II trauma center in Alaska, requiring prior charge nurse experience and an active AK RN license.
Details
- Float pool position covering Med/Surg, Telemetry, and a discharge lounge unit within a 163-bed Level II trauma center serving the state of Alaska
- Patient population includes adults and geriatric patients with med/surg and telemetry diagnoses
- Unit configuration includes a 12-bed discharge unit, four 23-bed Med/Surg Tele units, and a 4-bed Med/Surg unit
- Patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Every other weekend coverage required
- Floating is required across Med/Surg, Tele, and discharge lounge
- Medication management via Pyxis
- Documentation via Cerner (experience preferred)
Requirements
- Active Alaska (AK) RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and CPI
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Prior charge nurse experience required
- Experience in a Med/Surg and/or Telemetry setting required
- 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
Additional Information
- Orientation is 64 hours
- All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
