Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 2+ years of experience in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, including travel experience, for a 13-week contract assignment.
Details
- Work in a cardiac cath lab performing diagnostic and interventional cardiology along with endovascular peripheral intervention
- 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, or 5x8 shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM as needed
- On-call requirement includes 1 weekday per week and 1 weekend every 4-6 weeks, including holidays
- Preferred experience in Electrophysiology (EP) Lab and Interventional Radiology
- Siemens imaging equipment used in the lab
- EMR system is Cerner
- 13-week contract with possibility of extension
Requirements
- Minimum of 1.5-2 years of Cath Lab experience required
- Travel experience required
- Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology
- Current ARRT R.T.(R) certification required; ARRT CI preferred
- Current BLS and ACLS required
- WV Medical Imaging (RT) license required to operate fluoroscopy equipment; license required if applicable
- Required procedural skills include: cardiac stent placement, diagnostic and left/right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, hemodynamic monitoring, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, laser-assisted procedures, PA line insertion, rotablader atherectomy, temporary pacemaker, IVC filter placement, abdominal/pelvic angioplasty and embolization, upper and lower extremity angiography, and vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
- Ability to perform medium-level physical work, including frequent lifting up to 25 lbs and maximum lifting of 50 lbs
- Driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
- Two manager or charge nurse references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- Perform endovascular procedures under physician direction, including scrubbing to maintain a sterile field, room circulation, equipment setup, and accurate hemodynamic monitoring and documentation
- Responsible for recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias and appropriate use of rapid response protocols
- Maintain isolation precautions and adhere to infection control standards
- Required to attend mandatory in-services, staff meetings, and complete all competency assessments on time
- Scrubs are provided
- Holiday call coverage is included in the on-call rotation
