Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week travel contract requiring Epic proficiency, CRRT experience, and the ability to pass an EKG telemetry competency assessment prior to starting.

• 16-bed ICU unit within a 310-bed hospital
• Level III Trauma Center
• Designated Neuro Unit for ischemic stroke patients receiving TPA
• Patient population includes critical care (1:2 ratio) and intermediate-level patients (1:3 ratio), as well as COVID-positive patients
• Specialized procedures include CRRT, 24-hour EEG, hypothermia protocol post cardiac arrest, and prone positioning
• Epic EMR experience required
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
• Must be available to work every other weekend and every other holiday
• Travelers are first to float at the facility's discretion, within medically appropriate specialty clusters including a high-risk respiratory/COVID unit

Requirements

• Active Ohio RN license or compact license currently in hand
• Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) or BSN required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through AHA required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Proficiency with ventilator management, IV starts, ICP monitoring, and conscious sedation required
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass an online EKG telemetry competency assessment prior to starting the assignment
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Provides critical care nursing within a Family Centered Care model with unrestricted visiting hours
• All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration; no RTO will be added after an offer is extended, and all approvals are at the manager's discretion
• Block scheduling is not available for this assignment
• The facility reserves the right to cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract due to low census
• Travel nurses are not eligible for facility employee incentives
