Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Staffing Pool position in Goldsboro, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Intermediate/Step Down experience and an active NC or compact RN license.

Details

• Staffing Pool position providing flexible nursing coverage across all inpatient units, as well as care for inpatients held in the Emergency Department
• Day shift, 7:00am – 7:00pm, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Every other holiday (EOH) required
• On-call required 1 shift per pay period if census drops
• Skills utilized include telemetry monitoring, IV/PICC line care, IV insertion, tube care, and port management

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact license with North Carolina as the state of residence
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• CPI-A certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of current Intermediate/Step Down experience required
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited school of nursing required; BSN or MSN preferred
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Must be able to report to a lab for drug screening within 24 hours of committing to the position

• Responsibilities include coordinating and delivering patient-centered care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate and update patient care plans, addressing complex physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs
• Participates in patient and family education, assessing readiness and developmental factors affecting learning
• Performs bedside point-of-care testing and utilizes organizational nursing standards and policies in care delivery
• Anticipates and addresses patient discharge planning needs in coordination with multidisciplinary resources
• Background check and drug screen results may take at least 2 weeks due to required vendor; document due dates are firm and may affect start date
