Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Clinical Resource Unit (Float Pool) position in Normal, IL, requiring Epic EMR experience and a minimum of one year of nursing experience.

Details

• Float pool position covering multiple inpatient units including Medical-Oncology, Surgical-Orthopedic, Cardiovascular Care Unit, Progressive Care Unit, Mental Health Unit, and Acute Rehab
• Patient population includes acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients with diagnoses such as coronary artery disease, CHF, MI, dysrhythmias, stroke, cancer, and post-surgical cases
• Floating may extend to additional system hospitals including Carle Health Methodist Hospital, Young Minds, Carle Health Pekin Hospital, and Carle Health Proctor Hospital
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• Weekend and holiday coverage on a rotation basis
• Epic EMR used; experience required

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required; temporary license accepted
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Nursing diploma or degree required
• Skills required include medication administration, IV venipuncture, blood administration, post-operative care, patient education, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Provides direct nursing care across diverse inpatient units as part of the float pool (Clinical Resource Unit)
• Responsibilities include patient assessments, care plan development and modification, medication administration, pre- and post-operative care, IV venipuncture, blood administration, and patient/family education
• Conducts bedside shift reports, hourly rounding, and maintains patient communication boards
• Delegates tasks to Healthcare Technicians (HCTs) and follows up on completion throughout the shift
• Manages conflict professionally and provides constructive feedback to support peer development
• RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
• Candidates who have been on continuous assignment with Carle Health for 1 year must either convert to a permanent role or take a 6-month break before returning to any Carle Health location
