Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with critical care and ventilator management experience for a 13-week night shift travel assignment at a 286-bed acute care hospital in Largo, FL.

Details

• Respiratory Therapy department in a 286-bed acute care hospital
• Night shift hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Staff of 21 respiratory therapists; night shift team includes 4 therapists
• Uses Servo and 840 ventilators
• Meditech EMR preferred
• Typical procedures include nebulizer treatments, ABGs from A-lines and via arterial stick, and assisting with intubations and code/rapid response events
• Float coverage to the HCA FL Largo West campus (psych/rehab department) required
• Work schedule includes every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active RRT credential — license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of recent respiratory therapy experience; allied candidates must have at least 6 months of experience within the last 6 months
• Critical care skills and ventilator management required
• Strong patient assessment skills required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• Two professional references required (Florida state requirement)
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible

Additional Information

• Administer nebulizer treatments, obtain ABGs, and actively participate in intubations, code events, and rapid responses
• Gray scrubs required for Respiratory Therapy staff
