Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of experience for a 13-week night shift inpatient position requiring Epic EMR experience.

Details

• Inpatient hospital respiratory therapy department
• Patient population spans neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Respiratory care provided across inpatient units, the Emergency Room, and ICUs
• Participation on all transport teams, including NICU, Peds, and Adult transports
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 36 hours per week, three 12-hour shifts per day
• Every 3rd weekend shift required
• Holiday shifts on a rotation basis
• No floating required
• No on-call requirement
• Epic EMR used; experience is required

Requirements

• Associate's degree or certificate in Respiratory Therapy
• Minimum 1 year of relevant respiratory therapy experience
• Active IL RCP License required if applicable
• Current certifications: RRT (NBRC), BLS (AHA)
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Experience with ventilator therapy, oxygen therapy, aerosol/humidity therapy, and blood gas analysis
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Evaluate and administer routine and critical respiratory care per patient care plans, including medication administration and charting
• Set up, maintain, and document oxygen therapy, aerosol/humidity therapy, and ventilator therapy
• Provide ventilator support and airway management across all patient age groups
• Perform arterial, venous, and capillary blood gas analysis and participate in blood gas quality control and proficiency studies
• May be trained in endotracheal intubation and arterial line insertion
• May take on a charge role as needed
• Assist with cleaning and stocking respiratory care equipment and supplies on inpatient units
• Candidates who have been on continuous assignment with Carle Health for 1 year must take a 6-month break before returning to any Carle Health location
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
