Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at an acute care hospital, requiring a CA RN license, Epic proficiency, and a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience.

Details

• Work setting is an acute care hospital with a 266-bed facility located beachside in California
• Labor & Delivery unit includes 4 antepartum rooms, 9 labor/high-risk rooms, and 3 triage rooms
• Patient population includes laboring patients, high-risk pregnancies, antepartum, and triage cases
• Procedures include fetal heart monitoring, high-risk pregnancy monitoring, C-sections, and vaginal deliveries
• Floating to postpartum (couplet care — newborn and maternal) required when staffing needs arise
• Ability to take a newborn role in delivery is a plus
• Schedule is days, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Charting via Epic (experience required)

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required — pending licenses not accepted
• Active RN license must be in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required
• Required certifications: AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring or NCC EFM, ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NRP, and FHM
• Epic EMR experience required
• Ability to float to postpartum and perform couplet care
• At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate — contact your recruiter for details
• All travelers may be expected to float between facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration — post-offer RTO requests are subject to denial
• RNs wear navy blue scrubs; L&D scrubs are provided by the facility
• Parking is available on-site for a fee (hang-tag or key-card options) or at an offsite location at a reduced rate
