Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Orthopedic Surgery position in Alamogordo, NM, requiring at least 1 year of recent ortho experience and an active NM or compact RN license.

Details

• Specialty Orthopedic Surgery unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license in NM or via compact licensure required
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
• Minimum 1 year of recent orthopedic nursing experience required
• BSN preferred
• US Social Security Number required for consideration
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• Active, non-expired copies of all certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers
• Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed
