Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position at an HCA facility in Frankfort, KY, requiring at least 3 years of L&D experience and the ability to circulate for C-sections.
Details
- Located on the second floor of a main hospital building in a Labor & Delivery unit
- Unit consists of 7 L&D beds, 14 Mother/Baby beds, and a Level 2 NICU/Newborn Nursery
- Patient ratios: L&D 2:1, Mother/Baby 6-8:1, NICU 1-4:1 depending on acuity
- Day shift staffing includes 6-8 RNs, 1 OBT, and 1 unit clerk; night shift includes 5-8 RNs, 1 OBT, and 1 unit clerk
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required (Friday and Saturday nights)
- Procedures performed include vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, induction of labor (Cook catheter, Cervidil, oxytocin), IUFD, IV insertion, lab draws, sterile vaginal exams, epidural assistance, and Foley catheter placement
- Equipment used includes Alaris pumps, Corometrics 250 Series Fetal Monitor, Monica monitor, and Ranger fluid warmer
- EMR systems: Meditech Expanse and CPN (Centricity Perinatal)
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active KY RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP (AAP Advanced 9th Edition), and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring (intermediate or advanced) or NCCEFM
- Minimum 3 years of L&D experience required
- Ability to circulate for cesarean sections required
- Hospital setting experience required
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Candidates with 5 or more years of L&D experience will be given priority consideration
- Scrubs are provided by the facility for infant security purposes
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- AHA or ARC certifications accepted; certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
