Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, Epic proficiency, and active GA or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
- Adult to geriatric patient population with diagnoses including CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, and PE/DVT/vascular issues
- Patient ratio of 1:4–5 across a 16-room unit
- Epic EMR required; also uses Pyxis and SBAR communication framework
- Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00–19:30
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active RN license — Georgia (GA) or compact state license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Copies of required certifications must be provided for consideration
- Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred for consideration

- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted
- Navy blue scrubs required
- RTO maximum of 7 days for the assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
- RTO blackout dates apply: Spring Break (April 4–12)
- Holiday coverage policy: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two, with one holiday RTO request eligible for review — Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
- No scheduling requests or alternate shift arrangements are accommodated — the posted day shift is firm
- Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a minimum of one full year before returning as a traveler
- Full compliance with onboarding requirements must be completed on time; delays will result in a two-week pushback due to a bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Candidates will undergo a clinical pre-screen to assess clinical fit before being forwarded to the hiring manager
