Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU travel assignment in a rural Arizona health center, requiring a minimum of 3 years of ICU experience and an active AZ or compact RN license.
Details
- Position is within a 5-bed ICU at a JCAHO-accredited regional health center serving the Navajo, Hopi, and Southern Paiute communities in a rural area of Northwestern Arizona
- Cares for critically ill patients of all ages, including post-op general surgery, pediatric, and OB patients after hours as needed
- May float to the ED, Med/Surg, or Peds units in cases of low census
- 13-week contract with all shifts considered (days, evenings, nights)
- 36 hours per week
Requirements
- Active AZ or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS (both from the American Heart Association); PALS (AHA) required — must be completed within 6 months of hire
- Additional certifications required within 6 months of hire: Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 3 years of prior ICU experience required
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher required
- SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provides nursing care to critically ill patients following physicians' orders, standards of care, and hospital policies and procedures
- The facility is located in a very rural area of Northwestern Arizona on the Colorado Plateau, serving a 4,400 square mile region
- Shared contractor housing is available (not guaranteed) — no pets or family members permitted in housing
- A housing application must be submitted 2 weeks prior to start date; contact your recruiter for the application
- Orientation is offered on a bi-weekly basis
- Fingerprinting is required prior to start and is completed during the compliance process via mail
- COVID and flu vaccine exemptions may be accepted upon submission of a declination form
