Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ICU position in Salt Lake City, UT, requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and active ACLS certification for a night shift assignment.
Details
- 24-bed ICU unit in a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 8-week contract
- Standard patient ratio is 1:2; 1:3 for PCU boarders; 1:1 for sitters or higher acuity cases (IABP, CRRT, open hearts)
- Scheduling is straight nights or a 50/50 arrangement
- Procedures performed on unit include rapid sequence intubations, central line placements, bronchoscopy, arterial line placement, and chest tube placement
- Experience with ventilators, vasopressors, restraint use, and arterial lines required
- EMR: Epic
- Floating may be required to the PCU or as a sitter anywhere in the hospital inpatient setting
- 3 weekend shifts required within every 4-week period
Requirements
- Active UT or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment start)
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required for ICU RNs
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required; strong candidates with 1 year may be considered
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- Scrub color required: Caribbean Blue
- Unit support includes 1 CCT/Unit Secretary during day shift when census exceeds 10 patients
- An outgoing, team-player personality is a strong fit for this unit
