Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR experience across multiple surgical specialties, with an active IN or Compact RN license required.
Details
- Work setting is a large academic hospital OR environment with 24 OR beds and an average census of 70-80 patients
- Surgical specialties include General, Ortho, Robotics, GYN, Thoracic, ENT, Oral, Urology, Whipple, Plastics (free flap), and Liver resection
- Circulator role required
- DaVinci XI robotic surgical system in use
- Cerner charting system used; prior experience required
- Schedule is Monday–Friday, 4x10-hour day shifts (7:00–17:30)
- Call requirement of 40–60 hours per 6-week schedule
- Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate facility is required
Requirements
- Active IN or Compact RN license currently in hand (or fingerprint application package submitted)
- Current BLS certification (AHA or RQI accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience, all within the last 3 years
- Experience in Circulating required; experience across multiple specialties including General, Ortho, Robotics, GYN, Thoracic, ENT, Oral, Urology, Whipple, Plastics (free flap), and Liver resection required
- Charge RN experience preferred
- Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
- 2 supervisor references required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Indiana residents are considered local candidates; local candidates may be accepted for this Surgical Services position at a different pay package
- Previous permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have a 12-month gap in IU employment before applying as a traveler
- Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a consecutive break before resetting eligibility: out-of-state residents require a 90-day break, in-state residents require a 180-day break
- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
