Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED) position on night shift, requiring at least 1 year of ICU or ED experience and a TX or compact RN license.

• Freestanding emergency department (FSED) setting — a 6-bed, 24/7 standalone ER
• Night shift schedule: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• Team nursing model due to the small 6-bed unit size
• Patient ratio of 4:1
• Night shift team includes 2 RNs, 1 Paramedic, 1 Rad Tech, and 1 Physician
• Equipment includes Lucas Device, EKG Machine, BiPAP, Glidescope, and standard ER equipment
• EMR: Meditech
• Rotating weekends required
• On-call may be requested but is not required
• No floating required

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI, and TNCC — all issued by AHA or ARC, with no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of the assignment start
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU or Emergency Department RN experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• One professional reference required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include standard emergency care, EKG monitoring, blood draws, and medication administration
• Freestanding ER experience is preferred but not required
• Lab experience is a plus
• Royal blue HCA scrubs are required
• Standard HCA policies and guidelines apply
