Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg (Adult) Night Shift position in Vermont, requiring a minimum of 3 years of acute care experience and a VT or compact RN license.
Details
- General Med/Surg unit at a 25-bed critical access hospital in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom
- Patient population is primarily adults with the occasional pediatric patient
- Provides comprehensive medical, surgical, outpatient, observation, swing bed, and pediatric care
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
- Schedule includes every other weekend
- Meditech EMR experience is preferred
Requirements
- Active VT RN license or multi-state compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS (American Heart Association) and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 3 years of acute care experience required
- This is not a pediatric-focused position; candidates with pediatric-only experience will not be considered
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include coordinating patient care using the Nursing Process to address medical, surgical, and observational needs across a diverse patient population
- Works collaboratively with a Clinical Nurse Lead and/or Nursing Supervisor, and is accountable to the Unit Director
- Care approach emphasizes holistic needs including physiological, psychosocial, spiritual, and developmental considerations
- Flu vaccination is required with no exceptions
- All required credentials must be uploaded at least five business days prior to the start date
- Travelers begin their assignment on Wednesdays
