Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer with a minimum of 2 years of hospital experience and active RDMS & RVT certifications for a 13-week assignment at an acute care teaching facility in Atlantis, FL.
Details
- Ultrasound department within a 472-bed acute care medical/surgical hospital and healthcare complex specializing in cardiovascular care, neuroscience, oncology, orthopedics, bariatrics, and Women's Services
- The facility is also a nationally recognized academic teaching hospital
- Unit is staffed with 4 techs on 12-hour shifts, 24 hours a day, with 4 scanners and 4 tables available
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Procedures include operating sonography equipment to create diagnostic images of bones, organs, and soft tissues
- Equipment used includes GE scanners, GE Discovery 450, X-Ray, MRI, and CT machines
- EMR: Meditech
- Schedule: Saturday & Sunday 7:00 AM–7:30 PM and Monday & Tuesday 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
- Heavy call requirements associated with this position
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of hospital experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, with active experience within the last 6 months
- Active BLS (AHA or ARC accepted)
- Active RDMS and RVT certifications required
- ACLS preferred but not required
- Must be able to work independently with strong critical thinking and adaptability skills
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — no local candidates will be considered
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
- Two professional references required (Florida state requirement)
- License required if applicable
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
Additional Information
- Must be willing to work weekends, evenings, and nights
- Must be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
- Gray scrubs required for Ultrasound Technologists
