Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced PACU RN for a travel assignment in Espanola, NM, requiring at least 2 years of PACU experience and prior travel assignment history.
Details
- PACU setting within a hospital environment
- Day shift with varied start times, 10-hour shifts, 5 days per week, 40 hours per week
- Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required
- Epic EMR used; on-site training available for those without prior Epic experience
Requirements
- Active NM or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (all must be issued by the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross)
- Minimum 2 years of current PACU experience required
- At least one prior 13-week travel assignment required
- ADN or ASN degree required
- Must be a team player, flexible, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
Additional Information
- Provides direct patient care using the nursing process, including assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting patient needs and responses
- Coordinates care through collaboration with patients, families, and the broader healthcare team
- Assumes clinical supervision responsibilities for LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
- Administers medications and treatments per physician orders or standard protocols
- Must pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test during the first week of the assignment — failure to pass will result in dismissal
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Former permanent staff of Presbyterian Health Services must wait one year before being considered as a traveler
