Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring a TX or compact license, prior travel experience, and critical care skills.
Details
- Work in a 10-bed ICU within a hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Night shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12), 19:00-7:00
- Block schedules approved
- Epic charting system required
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS; NIHSS and TNCC preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, central/PICC/arterial line management, and blood product administration
- Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC)
- Proficient in cardiac drip titration, dysrhythmia management, and cardiac monitoring
- Experience with CVA/stroke management and multisystem organ dysfunction care
- Knowledge of IV insulin protocols and renal failure management
- Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization care and Swan-Ganz monitoring preferred
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to a diverse ICU patient population
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to manage complex, high-acuity cases
- Complete required onboarding modules onsite during orientation
- Travel pairs or groups will not be considered for this position
- Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
- Candidates residing in certain nearby counties are not eligible for this assignment
- Former staff members must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- All RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none permitted during the first week of orientation
