Description
American Traveler is hiring a Neuro ICU RN for a night shift position requiring ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications with a preferred 2 years of ICU experience.
Details
- Work in a Certified Stroke Center's Neuro ICU
- Patient ratio of 2:1
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 18:45-6:45)
- Every other weekend required
- Float required to other ICUs within scope
- Block scheduling may be considered
- Epic charting system experience preferred
Requirements
- Active OK or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required in hand
- 2 years of Neuro ICU experience preferred
- 1 year Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Skilled in EVD management, ventilator management, and stroke management
- Experience with CVA/acute stroke management, ICP monitoring, and post-craniotomy/neurosurgery care
- Experience with arterial line management and central line care
- Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
Additional Information
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Coordinate care in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
- Manage neurological conditions including traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and stroke
- Perform discharge planning and patient/family education
- Delegate tasks to unlicensed personnel in compliance with Board of Nursing regulations
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
- Former permanent staff must have separated from employment for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
- Brief unit orientation provided for floating assignments
