Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position at a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital in North Carolina, requiring 2 years of MS/Tele experience and active Epic proficiency.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting with 733 staffed beds, operating as a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital
• Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope to like units or a sister campus may be required based on facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Charting is performed in Epic; experience is required

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license currently in hand; pending licenses are not accepted
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the main campus to be eligible for this position
• Royal blue and white scrubs required
• Pre-start orientation modules must be completed prior to the assignment start date (approximately 4–10 hours)
• RTO is subject to manager's discretion, with a general guideline of up to 4 days per contract; all time off requests must be submitted upfront
• Only 1 holiday approval can be accommodated during the contract
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must have been away for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Night shift travelers may extend their contract up to twice before being required to leave for a minimum of 6 months prior to returning
