Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position at a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital in North Carolina, requiring 2 years of MS/Tele experience and active Epic proficiency.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting with 733 staffed beds, operating as a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital
- Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a patient ratio of 1:5-6
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within scope to like units or a sister campus may be required based on facility needs
- No on-call requirements
- Charting is performed in Epic; experience is required
Requirements
- Active NC or Compact RN license currently in hand; pending licenses are not accepted
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- SSN and date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the main campus to be eligible for this position
- Royal blue and white scrubs required
- Pre-start orientation modules must be completed prior to the assignment start date (approximately 4–10 hours)
- RTO is subject to manager's discretion, with a general guideline of up to 4 days per contract; all time off requests must be submitted upfront
- Only 1 holiday approval can be accommodated during the contract
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must have been away for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Night shift travelers may extend their contract up to twice before being required to leave for a minimum of 6 months prior to returning
