Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position at a cardiac specialty hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of PCU or Med-Surg experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Lower acuity cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a heart hospital
  • Cardiac patient population with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4
  • Rotating Day/Night shifts (3x12 hours), with day shifts running 7:00–19:30 and night shifts running 19:00–7:30
  • Schedule includes weekdays and some weekends
  • Rotating holiday coverage is required
  • Floating to units of similar or lower acuity within the health system is required as needed
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • 13-week contract (36 hours per week)

Requirements

  • Active Ohio RN license or Compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of PCU or Med-Surg experience required
  • Cardiac experience preferred
  • Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and conscious sedation required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • 2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or Supervisor; a Charge RN is acceptable as a 2nd reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

  • Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in a lower acuity cardiac unit
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as traveling candidates
  • Former employees of the facility are eligible for a travel assignment after a minimum 6-month separation
  • Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with your profile and is limited to 7 days or fewer for the duration of the contract
  • Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be initiated promptly upon contract signing — candidates outside of Ohio may need to travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location or complete a mailed fingerprinting packet
