Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU (Recovery Room) position in Wichita, KS, requiring a minimum of 1 year of acute care PACU experience and active BLS and ACLS certifications.
Details
- Work setting is a hospital Recovery Room (PACU) unit with 30 beds
- Day shift hours are 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM; night shift typically consists of 2 RNs and may involve on-call rather than scheduled shifts
- Patient ratios are 1:2 RN-to-patient, with 1:1 ratio for higher acuity patients
- Day shift is staffed with 1 charge nurse and 12 RNs
- Common procedures include craniotomies and orthopedic cases
- EMR system is Meditech; prior experience is preferred but not required
- On-call is required with a 30-minute response time
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active KS or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care hospital PACU RN experience
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
- Flexibility with hours is preferred
- Prior Meditech EMR experience is a plus
- Ideal candidates are patient-focused, adaptable, and able to work well under pressure
