Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU (PICU) travel assignment in Wichita, KS, requiring a minimum of 1 year of current acute care PICU experience and active BLS and PALS certifications.

Details

  • Located in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) of a Level II Trauma hospital
  • 15-bed unit staffed with a multidisciplinary team including intensivists, RNs, respiratory therapists, desk techs, dietary, and case management
  • Patient ratio of 2:1
  • Uses general cardiac/respiratory (CR) monitoring equipment
  • EMR: Meditech/CPN
  • Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour shifts)
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active RN license — Kansas or Compact state license required
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
  • Minimum 1 year of recent acute care PICU RN experience
  • A US SSN and DOB are required for consideration
  • One professional reference required (two required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri)
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

  • Typical procedures include IV starts, blood draws, and TPT placements
  • CRRT experience is preferred
  • APHON certification is preferred
  • Pediatric teaching hospital experience is preferred
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
  • Candidates who work well under pressure in a teaching hospital environment are encouraged to apply
