Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring prior PCU/Stepdown or Telemetry experience, strong cardiac monitoring skills, and an Alabama RN license.

Details

• Work setting is a hospital Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Stepdown)
• Required work setting experience: Med-Surg/Telemetry, Telemetry, and PCU/Stepdown
• Patient population includes cardiac and medically complex patients requiring close monitoring
• Patient ratio is 1:5
• Day shift: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Required to work every other weekend (EOW)
• Floating to Med-Surg units is required
• 8-week contract

Requirements

• Active Alabama RN license or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted for consideration)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Prior PCU/Stepdown or Telemetry nursing experience required
• Strong cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required
• Must be proficient in IV insertion, Heparin protocols, and management of cardiac drips (no titration required)
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates who have previously been permanently employed at this facility are not eligible
• Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are accepted but at a different pay rate
• RTO requests are limited to a maximum of 7 days for the duration of the assignment
• Hospital housing is available and highly recommended given the remote location — shared units with private bedrooms and shared common spaces; male or female units only; no dogs permitted; travelers coordinate directly with the facility
