Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery/OB ED position in Austin, TX, requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and key certifications including EFM, NRP, and ACLS.

Details

• Works on a 32-bed Labor & Delivery/OB ED unit on the 4th floor of a high-volume hospital
• Night shift position, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Alternating weekend requirement
• No on-call requirements
• Patient ratio of 1:2 (with 1:1 possible depending on acuity)
• Unit staffed with a charge nurse and co-charge nurse on both day and night shifts
• Procedures performed include SVDs, cerclages, C-sections, and TOLACs
• Equipment used includes Novii, JADA, Fetal Pillow, IUPC, FSE, Toco, and ultrasound
• EMR: Meditech
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license (must be in hand at time of consideration)
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP (AAP Advanced 9th Edition), STABLE, and intermediate or advanced AWHONN fetal monitoring (or NCCEFM)
• Minimum 2 years of recent L&D nursing experience required
• EFM proficiency and SVE competency required
• C-section circulation experience required
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing laboring patients through SVD, C-section, cerclage, and TOLAC procedures
• Internal monitor placement competency is preferred
• Prior HCA facility experience is preferred
• Experience in a high-volume Level IV unit is preferred
• Navy blue scrubs required; solid blue, black, or grey sweatshirts only — t-shirts are not acceptable
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
• One professional reference required (two required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri)
