Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR/OR Float Pool position at a large academic Level 1 trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of CVOR experience, prior travel experience, and the ability to both scrub and circulate cardiac surgeries.
Details
- OR Float Pool position within a 1,000+ bed academic Level 1 trauma center
- 56-bed OR serving both inpatient and outpatient cases, plus 5 procedural rooms
- Complex cardiovascular patient population including CABG, valve repairs, repeat cardiac procedures, heart failure, ECMO, VAD, heart and lung transplant, PTE, cardiac trauma, and adult congenital cases
- Adult patient population only — pediatric OR is a separate facility
- 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), Monday through Friday; specific days vary based on unit need and a block schedule is not available
- Call is required for all travelers in cardiac surgery — three layers of call coverage, 24/7, with requirements rotating every 6 weeks
- Schedule consists of 3x12-hour shifts per week plus call obligations
- Float between OR rooms within the same facility is possible; no cross-location floating required
- Epic EMR (Academic Medical Center)
Requirements
- Active RN license — TN state license or Compact RN license currently in hand is required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR OR experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Must be able to both scrub and circulate cardiac surgeries
Additional Information
- Perform scrub and circulate roles across complex cardiac surgical cases including transplants, ECMO, and VAD procedures
- Large academic teaching medical center environment
- Travelers must be available for all three layers of on-call coverage, which rotate on a 6-week cycle
- Orientation is available on select dates only; there is no orientation during certain weeks, so flexibility around start timing may be required
