Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR RN for a float pool position at a 1,000+ bed Level I Trauma academic medical center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of CVOR experience, prior travel experience, and the ability to both scrub and circulate cardiac surgeries.

Details

• Position is within the OR Float Pool at a 1,000+ bed Level I Trauma academic medical center
• 56-bed OR serving both inpatient and outpatient cases, plus 5 procedural rooms
• Adult patient population only; no pediatric cases (Children's Hospital OR is a separate location)
• Complex patient cases include CABG, valve and repeat cardiac procedures, heart failure, ECMO, VAD, heart and lung transplant, pulmonary thromboendarterectomy (PTE), cardiac trauma, and adult congenital
• 12-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (specific days vary based on unit need; block scheduling is not available)
• Call is required — travelers participate in a 3-layer, 24/7 on-call rotation with requirements varying every 6 weeks
• Floating may be required between OR rooms within the same facility (not between locations)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active TN or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Must be able to both scrub and circulate cardiac surgeries

Additional Information

• RNs will scrub and circulate complex cardiac surgeries including transplant and ECMO cases
• Must be willing and available to take call as part of the 3-layer, 24/7 on-call rotation in addition to regular 12-hour shifts
• Call requirements rotate on a 6-week cycle
• This is a high-acuity, high-volume academic medical center environment
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
