Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Inpatient Rehab RN for a 13-week day shift contract in Northport, AL, requiring an active AL or compact RN license and at least 2 years of experience with 1 year in rehab.

Details

• Inpatient rehabilitation unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes stroke, hip fracture, and pulmonary patients working toward functional recovery and independence
• Patients receive 24-hour medical monitoring alongside daily provider rounding from physiatrists, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants
• Specialized therapy equipment in use includes body weight support systems, treadmills, Dynavision machines, and simulation vehicles
• EMR system is Meditech (experience preferred but not required)
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• Floating to other units and hospitals is required
• 36 or 48 hours per week

Requirements

• Active RN license in Alabama or a valid Compact state — no temporary or pending licenses accepted
• No current or past hits on nursing license(s)
• BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross accepted)
• Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; candidates with 18 months may be considered if all experience is under the highest level of professional license
• At least 1 year of recent experience in inpatient rehabilitation or specialty field required
• NURSYS license verification required for consideration
• Current driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide 24-hour nursing care and close medical supervision to patients participating in an inpatient rehabilitation program
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team including physiatrists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and therapists
• Solid navy scrubs required
• No HealthStream modules required prior to start — competency-based modules are completed during virtual orientation
• Local candidates are welcome to apply with no radius restrictions
• Timekeeping is done via Centricity
