Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a high-risk Level III perinatal care unit, requiring a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Work is performed at the Pavilion for Women and Children (Pacific Campus), a comprehensive maternity facility with a Level II NICU
- High-risk perinatal care unit featuring 19 L&D beds, 10 antepartum beds, 30 postpartum beds, 3 ORs, 2 PACUs, and a 7-bay triage
- Patient ratios: 1:1 in labor, 1:3 couplets in postpartum with CNA support, and 1:2-3 in antepartum
- Triage is staffed with 3 skilled RNs per shift; postpartum has 3 CNAs per shift to assist RNs
- 3–4 delivering providers, 2 CRNAs, and 2 Health Unit Coordinators available 24/7
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:30–07:00)
- Weekend shifts are required
- Floating to Postpartum is required; travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state
- Charting is done in Epic (experience required)
- No on-call responsibilities
Requirements
- Active WA state or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate or Relias Fetal Monitoring
- Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required
- Sterile vaginal exam (SVE) proficiency is a hard requirement
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience in a facility performing 200+ deliveries per year is strongly preferred; candidates with experience in facilities handling 100–200 deliveries may be considered
- Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Active professional license required at time of consideration
- All required certifications must be current at time of consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are not accepted for this position
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Scrub color is open (reddish-orange is not permitted)
- Parking is covered by the facility
- All requested time off must be disclosed upfront; RTO requests made after submission may be denied
