Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a travel assignment in Denver, CO, requiring a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience and active CO or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a 408-bed hospital's main OR department, which includes 14 operating rooms (1 hybrid CV OR, 1 cysto, and 12 multipurpose ORs)
• Day shift staffing typically includes 14–16 RNs and 14–16 CSTs, supported by two Clinical Charge RNs
• Patient ratio is 1:1
• Typical procedures include angioplasty, appendectomy, biopsy, and ortho/spine cases; no transplant procedures performed
• Standard OR equipment and Stryker video systems are in use
• Meditech is the EMR; experience is preferred
• Shift hours are 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• On-call is required one day per week from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, with weekend on-call once every six weeks when the SSC Ortho physician is on-call
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active CO or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the start date)
• Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience in OR/perioperative nursing
• At least 1 year of current hospital acute care experience required
• Circulating and scrubbing experience preferred
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

• Responsibilities include circulating and/or scrubbing across a variety of surgical service lines
• Ideal candidates are adaptable, patient-focused, and communicate effectively with both staff and providers
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• The OR team consists of RNs, CSTs, PCTs, Anesthesia Techs, Service Line Lead RNs, a Tech Service Line Coordinator, Clinical Charge RNs, a Director, and a VP
