Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical ICU (MICU) position at a large acute care hospital in Birmingham, AL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

Details

• Night shift position, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• Medical ICU (MICU) unit in an 8-bed department
• General/Medical ICU patient population
• Patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 depending on acuity
• Hands-on experience with ICU equipment including ventilators, vasopressors, arterial lines, and central venous lines (CVLs)
• EMR: Cerner
• Every other weekend required
• Float to other units as needed
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active AL RN license or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration — no hits on license accepted
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS and ACLS (American Red Cross not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Cerner EMR experience beneficial given unit usage

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to general/medical ICU patients, including management of ventilators, vasopressors, arterial lines, and CVLs
• Navy scrubs required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Joint Commission-accredited facility recognized for excellence in stroke care, cardiovascular services, and other specialty areas
• SSN and DOB will be required as part of the consideration process
