Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a PACU and PreOp Care position at a major academic medical center in Chapel Hill, NC, requiring at least 1 year of nursing experience and a valid NC or compact RN license.

Details

PACU and PreOp Care unit within a large academic medical center
Prepares adult patients for surgery and recovers post-procedure patients across multiple procedural areas including Cystoscopy, VIR, Radiation Oncology, EP, Cath Lab, and MRI — including patients receiving general anesthesia
Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
36 hours per week, 3 days per week
Every other weekend (EOW) required
Every other holiday (EOH) required
Up to two on-call shifts per 6-week schedule

Requirements

Active RN license in North Carolina (standard or compact) currently in hand
Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
ACLS and PALS preferred
Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited nursing school required; BSN or MSN preferred

Additional Information

Coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process across a complex adult perioperative population
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and evaluate individualized care plans, including discharge planning
Two professional references required for consideration
Background check and drug screen required; drug screen should be completed within 24 hours of accepting an offer
