Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Pediatrics Float Pool position in Oklahoma City, requiring at least 1 year of RN experience, PALS certification, and Level 1 trauma experience with the ability to float across multiple pediatric units.
Details
- Float Pool position in a hospital pediatric setting, with floating required across multiple children's units including a 34-bed PICU, 25-bed CICU, and 112-bed NICU
- Acute care float units include surgical, behavioral health, med specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), hematology/oncology, step-down, and cardiac pediatrics
- When floated to the NICU, assignment is limited to feeder grower patients only (low acuity, not traditional NICU)
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- Weekend and holiday coverage required
- Travelers are first-line for skills assignments within the float pool
Requirements
- Active OK RN license or current multistate compact (eNLC) RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Level 1 trauma experience required
- Experience with trach management, high-flow oxygen therapy, and IV infusions required
- Ability to float across all children's service lines required
- Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Provides nursing care to pediatric patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex under general supervision
- Responsibilities include patient assessment, medication administration, IV infusion management, and coordination with physicians and support staff
- Educates patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning
- BSN from a board-approved program is preferred
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period after completing 26 weeks (one contract plus one extension) before being eligible to return
- All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association
