Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Pediatrics Float Pool position requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and the ability to float across multiple children's acute care units on a night shift schedule.
Details
- Hospital-based pediatric float pool position covering a wide range of children's acute care units
- Float assignments include a 34-bed PICU, 25-bed CICU, and 112-bed NICU (feeder grower/low acuity patients only), as well as surgical, behavioral health, med specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), hematology/oncology, step-down, and cardiac pediatric units
- Night shift, 12-hour days, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- Weekends and holidays required
- Float pool position — travelers are first in line for floating across all children's units
- Experience with trach care, high-flow oxygen, and infusion required as travelers serve as first-line for skills coverage
Requirements
- Active OK RN license or a current multistate compact (eNLC) RN license required
- Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Experience with trach, high-flow oxygen, and infusion required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates
- Full DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include assuming care for an assigned group of pediatric patients, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and documenting patient responses to nursing interventions
- Collaborates with physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures, and communicates care plans with patients and families
- Delegates tasks to support staff and makes appropriate referrals for patient care needs
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility may reapply after a 6-month separation period following a maximum of 26 cumulative weeks (one extension allowed)
- Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) must begin immediately upon offer acceptance — start dates will not be adjusted for non-compliance
