Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Float Pool - Pediatrics position in Oklahoma City, OK, requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and the ability to float across multiple pediatric specialty units.
Details
- Float Pool position within a hospital's pediatric service line
- Floating includes a 34-bed PICU, 25-bed CICU, 112-bed NICU (feeder growers/low acuity only), and acute care units including surgical, behavioral health, med specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), hem/onc, step-down, and cardiac peds
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)
- Weekend and holiday coverage required
- First-line resource for clinical skills across floating units
- Experience with trach care, high-flow oxygen therapy, and infusion required for float responsibilities
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Experience with trach, high-flow oxygen, and IV infusion required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Full date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient group, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, assisting with diagnostic procedures, and patient/family education
- BSN from a board-approved program is preferred
- Previous travelers who have completed a contract at this facility must have a 6-month separation before being eligible to reapply; extensions are limited to one time for a maximum of 26 total weeks
- Compliance requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical documentation) must be initiated immediately upon acceptance of an offer — the facility is strict about compliance deadlines and will not negotiate start dates
