Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Float Pool - Pediatrics position in Oklahoma City, OK, requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and the ability to float across multiple pediatric specialty units.

Details

• Float Pool position within a hospital-based pediatric setting
• Floating required across multiple units including a 34-bed PICU, 25-bed CICU, 112-bed NICU (feeder growers/low acuity only), and acute care units such as surgical, behavioral health, med specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), heme/onc, step-down, and cardiac peds
• Patient population includes pediatric patients ranging from low to high acuity across multiple specialty areas
• Trach care, high-flow oxygen, and IV infusion experience required as travelers are first-line for skills
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• Weekends and holidays required
• Epic or equivalent EMR experience expected (computer skills required)

Requirements

• Active OK RN license or current multistate compact (eNLC) RN license required
• Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Experience with trach care, high-flow oxygen therapy, and IV infusion required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Basic computer skills required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assuming care for an assigned group of pediatric patients, administering medications, monitoring physiological data, initiating and regulating IV infusions and blood products, and delegating tasks to support staff
• Involves collaboration with physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures, as well as patient and family education throughout the hospital stay and at discharge
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may work a maximum of 26 weeks total (including one extension); a 6-month separation period is required before becoming eligible for a new contract
• Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) must begin immediately upon acceptance of an offer; compliance deadlines are strictly enforced and non-negotiable
• First-time travelers are not explicitly welcomed; Level 1 Trauma and multi-specialty float experience suggest a strong background is expected
