Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position in Oklahoma City, OK, requiring active RN licensure, PALS certification, and at least one year of nursing experience.

• Pediatric ICU setting within a hospital environment
• 12-hour day shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• CVICU and NICU experience is preferred
• Level 1 (trauma) experience is required

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) required
• Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required — AHA certifications only accepted
• Minimum of one year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and evaluate nursing care across patients with varying levels of acuity
• Basic computer skills required
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates accepted
• Full DOB and full SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient group, monitoring physiological data, administering medications, regulating IV infusions and blood products, and documenting patient responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments
• Collaborates with physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures, and coordinates with support staff through appropriate delegation
• Engages patients and families in care planning throughout the hospital stay and at discharge
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a new contract (extensions are permitted once, up to a total of 26 weeks)
• Compliance requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) must be initiated immediately upon offer acceptance — start dates will not be adjusted for non-compliant candidates
• Background check and drug screen results may take up to 2 weeks; candidates should report for drug screening within 24 hours of committing to the position
