Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Occupational Therapist for a 13-week day shift contract at an academic medical center in Oklahoma City, requiring a minimum of 1 year of experience and an active OT license.

  • Pediatric Rehabilitation Services unit in a hospital setting
  • Day shift, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week (40 hours/week)
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy required
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant OT experience required
  • Active Oklahoma OT license required (license required if applicable)
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with patients and families
  • Basic computer proficiency required

Additional Information

  • Evaluate patients across areas including independent living skills, occupational performance, prevocational adjustment, educational skills, play-leisure abilities, and psychosocial skills
  • Interpret physician referrals and select appropriate standardized evaluation procedures
  • Develop individualized treatment plans with short- and long-term goals, frequency, and duration of treatment
  • Design and fabricate adaptive equipment and orthotic devices; provide instruction on joint protection and body mechanics
  • Educate patients and families on goals, progress, and home therapy plans; assist with discharge planning
  • May supervise OT students
  • Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
  • Previous travelers or employees must have a 6-month separation period after 26 weeks of total contract time before being eligible to return
  • Compliance requirements are strictly enforced — candidates must be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon offer acceptance
