Description
American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Occupational Therapist for a 13-week day shift contract at an academic medical center in Oklahoma City, requiring a minimum of 1 year of experience and an active OT license.

- Pediatric Rehabilitation Services unit in a hospital setting
- Day shift, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week (40 hours/week)
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy required
- Minimum 1 year of relevant OT experience required
- Active Oklahoma OT license required (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with patients and families
- Basic computer proficiency required
Additional Information
- Evaluate patients across areas including independent living skills, occupational performance, prevocational adjustment, educational skills, play-leisure abilities, and psychosocial skills
- Interpret physician referrals and select appropriate standardized evaluation procedures
- Develop individualized treatment plans with short- and long-term goals, frequency, and duration of treatment
- Design and fabricate adaptive equipment and orthotic devices; provide instruction on joint protection and body mechanics
- Educate patients and families on goals, progress, and home therapy plans; assist with discharge planning
- May supervise OT students
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Previous travelers or employees must have a 6-month separation period after 26 weeks of total contract time before being eligible to return
- Compliance requirements are strictly enforced — candidates must be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon offer acceptance
