Description

American Traveler is seeking a Radiology Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment in an imaging department, with experience in fluoroscopy and OR/C-arm procedures required.

Details

  • Work in an 89-bed acute care teaching hospital's imaging department with 3 imaging rooms (2 general X-ray, 1 fluoroscopy/pain clinic)
  • Patient population is primarily adult and geriatric with some pediatric patients across outpatient, inpatient (ED, ICU, MedSurg), and OR settings
  • Procedures include fluoroscopy, C-arm in OR, ortho and ortho trauma, ICU and MedSurg imaging, and ER studies (chest X-ray, abdominal scans, vascular)
  • Average of 25–30 scans per day
  • Rotation between fluoroscopy, OR, and portable/inpatient scans; fixed location otherwise
  • Variable day or evening shifts based on department needs, up to 40 hours per week on a 7-week schedule
  • Weekend rotation varies based on departmental need; no call required
  • Holidays covered in rotation with other techs
  • EMR: Cerner; PACS: Enterprise Imaging AGFA
  • Equipment includes Siemens X-ray units, Canon Ultimax Hybrid C-arm, Phillips C-arm (OR), Phillips and Siemens mobile C-arms, GE AMX 4 portable, and Mini C-arm for ortho

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Radiology Technologist (more experience preferred)
  • ARRT (R) certification required
  • Current BLS required
  • ME state license or compact license required; license required if applicable
  • OR/C-arm experience required
  • Fluoroscopy experience strongly preferred; candidates without fluoro experience but with strong overall skills may be considered with manager approval
  • Experience with outpatient, inpatient (ED, ICU, MedSurg), and OR patient populations required
  • Must not have previously worked at any Northern Light Health Hospital in a permanent capacity
  • Candidate's permanent address must be 100+ miles south/southwest of Bangor, ME (489 State St., Bangor, ME 04401) to qualify
  • Two professional references within the past year required, with at least one from a supervisor, manager, director, or charge — peer references are not accepted
  • Copies of all certifications required for consideration
  • Full SSN and driver's license required for consideration
  • Flu vaccination required for clearance to start; medical exemptions only, subject to facility approval

Additional Information

  • Supported by a Lead Tech, internal transport, and an on-site radiologist (available until approximately 4:30–5:00 PM, with remote radiology services after hours)
  • Orientation is approximately 1 to 1.5 weeks depending on experience and comfort level
  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position
  • All RTO requests require manager approval and must be submitted at the time of consideration
  • Scrubs may be any solid professional color; facility-provided scrubs are available if needed
