Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Float Pool ICU position in Oklahoma City, OK, requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and the ability to float across multiple pediatric and acute care units.
Details
- Float Pool position within a hospital setting, floating across multiple units including a 34-bed PICU, 25-bed CICU, 112-bed NICU, and acute care units such as surgical, behavioral health, med specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), hem/onc, step-down, and cardiac peds
- NICU float assignments are limited to feeder/grower patients (low acuity only)
- Experience with trach care, high-flow oxygen, and infusion required due to float pool responsibilities
- Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- Weekends and holidays required
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact (eNLC) RN license
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Experience with trach care, high-flow oxygen therapy, and infusion required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Full Date of Birth (DOB) required for consideration
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
Additional Information
- Provides nursing care to patients with health conditions ranging from simple to complex across multiple pediatric and acute care units
- Responsibilities include obtaining and monitoring physiological data, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and coordinating care with physicians and support staff
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period after completing 26 weeks (one extension allowed) before being eligible for a new contract
- Compliance onboarding (drug screens, background checks, and medical requirements) must be completed promptly — the facility does not allow delayed start dates due to non-compliance
- BSN from a board-approved program is preferred
