Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a travel assignment at a Level 1 trauma center, with strong surgical subspecialty skills in Thoracic, ENT, Neuro, and Oral procedures.
Details
- Hospital-based Operating Room setting, part of a Level 1 trauma center
- Surgical specialties covered include Adult Neurosurgery, Otolaryngology, Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, Thoracic (excluding transplant), and Spine (Neuro and Ortho)
- Patient ratio is 1:1
- On-call responsibilities are divided by service specialty for both circulator and scrub roles, with at least one team always in-house
- On-call requires a 30-minute response time
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, with start times of 7:00 AM or 11:00 AM
- Pyxis medication dispensing system in use
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
Requirements
- Active Michigan (MI) RN license required and must be in hand
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1.5 years of OR experience required; 2 years preferred
- Strong proficiency in Thoracic, ENT, Neuro, and Oral surgical specialties required
- 2 supervisory references required for consideration (charge nurse references not accepted)

- The facility is a brand new 12-story hospital featuring 264 private rooms, a state-of-the-art neurosciences center, 20 surgical suites, 3 interventional radiology suites, and advanced imaging capabilities
- Flu vaccination is required with no exemptions (religious or medical); candidates with allergies must receive the allergy-free flu vaccine option
- Candidates who have been employed by this health system within the past 12 months are not eligible to apply
- All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial application
