Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a night shift travel contract at a Level 4 Trauma teaching hospital in Minnesota, requiring ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications.

Details

• Work setting is a short-term acute care hospital with a combined adult/pediatric, non-trauma emergency department
• 39 total staffed beds at the facility
• Patient care involves cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, IV initiation and maintenance, triage, and isolation precautions
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Every third weekend required
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
• Block scheduling is not available
• Charting is performed in Epic (Excellian)
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
• Scrub color: Navy Blue

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required; pending license accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
• Minimum 1 year of ER experience required
• Experience in a general combined adult/pediatric emergency department required
• Skills required: dysrhythmia interpretation and management, 12-lead EKG/ECG, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, IV therapy, triage, and isolation precautions
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
• One supervisor reference required for consideration
• All current certifications must be provided for consideration, including Nursys or state board of nursing license verification

Additional Information

• Teaching hospital and Level 4 Trauma Center
• Pre-start modules are required to be completed before the first day of the contract
• Candidates who have previously worked at this health system as permanent staff or per diem must have been separated for at least 3 months from their last shift to be eligible
• RTO requests of no more than 5 days are preferred
